Apple TV+ shares first trailer for ‘Shining Girls’ starring Elisabeth Moss

Apple TV+ has shared the first trailer for its upcoming exclusive series, Shining Girls, starring Elisabeth Moss.

Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, Shining Girls stars Moss as Chicago reporter Kirby Mazrachi, in search of the man who assaulted her.  The series also stars Hamilton actor Phillipa Soo and Wagner Moura, best known for portraying Pablo Escobar in Netflix’s Narcos.  The story of Shining Girls centers around a man named Harper Curtis, a Depression-era drifter who finds a house in Chicago with doors to other time periods. Curtis uses that power to kill young women with bright potential. The protagonist of the tale, Kirby Mazrachi, survives her encounter with Curtis — and then turns the tables on him.

Shining Girls will debut on April 29th, with the first three episodes of the series available to stream that same day. Subsequent episodes will follow every Friday for the next five weeks. Check out the trailer for “Shining Girls” – here.

HBO renews ‘Euphoria’ for Season 3

HBO has announced that Euphoria has been officially renewed for season 3. The teen drama, created by Sam Levinson and starring Emmy winner Zendaya, doubled its average season 1 audience of 6.6 million viewers with its season 2 premiere, which has netted more than 13 million viewers across platforms since Jan. 9.

In a statement, Francesca Orsi, executive vice president, HBO programming said, “Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form, while maintaining its heart. We couldn’t be more honored to work with this gifted, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them into Season 3.”

Euphoria also stars Hunter Schafer, Dominic Fike, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Angus Cloud, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Barbie Ferreira, Austin Abrams, Alexa Demie, Algee Smith, Nika King, and Javon Walton.  Levinson, Zendaya, and Drake are among the shows executive producers, which is based on the Israeli series of the same name, created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin.

The Euphoria season 2 finale will air on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 9 p.m. ET.

Take a look at the official trailer for Netflix’s Kanye West Documentary ‘jeen-yuhs’

Netflix has revealed the first trailer for “jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy.”

The official synopsis describes “jeen-yuhs” as “a landmark documentary event presented in three acts from Clarence ‘Coodie’ Simmons and Chike Ozah…. an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye West’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.”

The documentary was directed by Chike Ozah and Clarence “Coodie” Simmons, who began filming Ye when he was still a 21-year-old rap producer living in Chicago. The duo continued to shoot footage of Ye over the course of two decades, capturing an unprecedented amount of private footage of West.  Recently, the project has attracted some controversy, as Ye insisted that he has not approved of the documentary and publicly asked for final cut privileges. However, as of press time the documentary is set to release as previously scheduled.

Act 1 of jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy will debut in select theaters on Feb. 10, with the Netflix premiere set for February 16. Subsequent chapters will be released each Wednesday on the streaming service.  You can watch the full trailer here.

Conway the Machine recruits Benny The Butcher and Westside Gunn for “John Woo Flick”

Ahead of the release of his LP God Don’t Make Mistakes, Conway the Machine revealed on social media that he has teamed up with Benny the Butcher and Westside Gunn for his new single “John Woo Flick” (which you can listen to here.). Along with the new single, Conway revealed he’s dropping his album on Feb. 25, saying in a statement: “Announcing the release date of God Don’t Make Mistakes with my new single ‘John Woo Flick,’ it’s perfect timing. Finally, my fans get to hear the music I put my heart and soul into.”

The 12-track LP will feature the previously released single “Piano Love,” and appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Jill Scott, T.I., Beanie Sigel, Beat Butcha, and others.  God Don’t Make Mistakes will mark Conway the Machine’s first full-length offering since last year’s La Maquina mixtape.

Conway will also be appearing at this year’s Coachella festival, before hitting the road on his Love Will Get You Killed Tour overseas in the spring. The international leg of the tour kicks off March 25 in Amsterdam before wrapping up on May 8 in Montreal.

Kylie Jenner welcomes second baby with Travis Scott

Kylie Jenner welcomed her second child with Travis Scott on Wednesday, February 2.  Jenner made the announcement on Sunday, February 6th, posting a photo on social media of her newborn holding what seems to be big sister Stormi’s hand along with the caption 💙 2/2/22.”

The 25-year-old Jenner and Scott, 30, welcomed their now-3-year-old daughter, Stormi, in February 2018. One year after Stormi’s arrival, Kylie confirmed that she and Scott had split but remained on good terms while co-parenting Stormi. They later sparked reconciliation rumors in June 2021.

In September, Jenner revealed she was expecting her second child with Scott, sharing the baby news on Instagram with a home video and the caption: “@travisscott”

Paramount Network confirms ‘Yellowstone’ is returning for Season 5

The hit Paramount Network drama ‘Yellowstone” is officially confirmed to return for Season 5 in 2022. The modern-day Western is set to begin production in May. Executive Producer David C. Glasser said: “We are honored to be able to bring audiences another season of Yellowstone. The continued growth in viewership and the recent recognition from the guilds bolsters our commitment to continue to bring groundbreaking entertainment to audiences.”

The entire principal cast is returning for Season 5, including Kevin Costner (John Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton), Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Dutton), Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton), Jefferson White (Jimmy Hurdstrom), Forrie Smith (Lloyd Pierce), Denim Richards (Colby), Ian Bohen (Ryan), Finn Little (Carter), Ryan Bingham (Walker) and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater).  In addition, Jen Landon (Teeter) and Kathryn Kelly (Emily) have been bumped up from guest starring status into series regulars.

Yellowstone has become the most-watched show on cable television since it launched in 2018.  Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks, said: “Yellowstone’s record-breaking performance proves we’ve tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts. The nearly 10-minute music video, directed by Benny Boom, sees Minaj take on the role of a secret agent who goes to the dark side. Along with Minaj and Lil Baby, the video stars Joseph Sikora (Ozark, Power) and Cory Hardrict (The Chi, S.W.A.T.)

Netflix teases Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Pinocchio’ set to debut in December

Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming stop-motion musical adaptation of Pinocchio is coming to Netflix in December, ad the streaming service shared a short teaser trailer for the animated feature. Pinocchio is based on the Carlo Collodi children’s novel The Adventures of Pinocchio, which follows a wooden puppet who comes to life.

Ewan McGregor voices Sebastian J. Cricket in the clip, who tells audiences that he lived inside the heart of the wooden boy before a logo for the film appears. David Bradley as Geppetto and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio also star along with Cate Blanchett, Finn Wolfhard, Ron Perlman John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.

Disney is also planning a live-action adaptation of Pinocchio based on its classic 1940 animated film of the same name. Tom Hanks, Cynthia Erivo and Luke Evans are set to star in the 2022 film with Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key and Lorraine Bracco providing voices.
