Hulu renews ‘Only Murders in the Building’ for Season 3
Hulu has ordered a third season of the comedy series ‘Only Murders in the Building’ starring Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.
Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment president Craig Erwich in a statement: “Only Murders in the Building is the true crown jewel of our slate. Its appeal across generations, the intersection of humor and heart, and its truly original approach are a hallmark of and testament to Dan [Fogelman], John [Hoffman], Steve, Marty and Selena’s work. We are grateful to be able to continue telling the stories of Charles, Oliver and Mabel to viewers that have consistently shown us they crave more of this story.”
Only Murders in the Building follows the three leads as they try to solve a murder in their New York apartment building and record a true-crime podcast about it. Season two found Charles (Martin), Oliver (Short) and Mabel (Gomez) also implicated in the death of the building’s board president and the unwilling subjects of a competing podcast.
The show also recently received an impressive 17 Emmy Award nominations, including for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as nominations for both Martin Short and Steve Martin in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category.

Cardi B shares the video for “Hot Sh*t” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk
Cardi B has dropped the music video for her new track “Hot Sh*t” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk. The video, directed by Lado Kvataniya, arrives less than two weeks after Cardi dropped the collab with Ye and Durk for her first single since ‘Up.”
The new visual kicks-off with Cardi standing on a platform on top of a skyscraper, defying the laws of gravity. The video features shots of Lil Durk and Kanye West separately, with Ye’s part animated. In an interview earlier this month, Cardi explained that the music video for the song was delayed because of the CGI technology. “I couldn’t maneuver or move how I wanted to, because I was very confused. After I finished the video, I find out that this s**t takes so long. I did this video around March, and it’s still not even ready yet. And it’s just so frustrating that I’m like, ‘You know what? Just put the f***ing song out. I don’t even give a f**k anymore. I’m over it.’”

Lea Michele to star in ‘Funny Girl’ on Broadway, replacing Beanie Feldstein
The producers of the Broadway show “Funny Girl” announced that the former “Glee” star and Emmy nominee Lea Michele will be replacing Beanie Feldstein in the title role of Fanny Brice, beginning on Sept. 6. Michele will be joined by four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh, who will replace Jane Lynch in the role of Fanny Brice’s mother.
Michele wrote on Instagram after the news was announced: “A dream come true is an understatement I’m so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage playing Fanny Brice on Broadway. See you September 6th.”
Feldstein and Lynch were expected to leave the show on Sept. 25, however Feldstein just announced on Instagram that she would be leaving the Broadway musical on July 31, two months earlier than expected. The 29-year-old wrote: “Playing Fanny Brice on Broadway has been a lifelong dream of mine, and doing so for the last few months has been a great joy and true honor. Once the production decided to take the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to step away sooner than anticipated.” Feldstein concluded, “The people I have had the great joy of bringing ‘Funny Girl’ to life with every night, both on and off the stage, are all remarkably talented and exceptional humans and I hope you continue to join them on Henry Street after I depart on July 31st.”
“Fanny Brice” standby Julie Benko is schedule to perform the play’s title role from August 2 to Sept. 4 and on Thursdays thereafter beginning Sept. 8. The show marks the first Broadway revival of “Funny Girl” since it premiered in 1964, with Barbra Streisand giving a now iconic performance as comedian Fanny Brice.

Meek Mill responds to reports of him parting ways with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation
Earlier this week, reports surfaced that Meek Mill was officially parting ways with JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation Management after a decade on their roster. Meek and Roc Nation joined forces to create Meek’s Dremachasers label as well as teaming up to launch a non-profit organization, Reform Alliance.
Following the news that broke about him leaving Roc Nation, Meek took to Twitter to clarify, explaining that he is “personally handling” his own businesses and that he is still very much a part of the Roc Nation family. He followed-up with another tweet that the public should not be equate his relationship with Roc to his relationship with Atlantic.
In the past year, Meek had previously expressed his frustrations with the label for not promoting his latest album Expensive Pain, tweeting at the time: “They didn’t put nothing into expensive pain and then said I can’t drop another project for 9 months at the end of my contract after I made them 100’s of millions…how would can anybody survive that…most rappers can’t speak because they depend on these companies “I don’t.”

Amber Heard seeks mistrial after verdict in Johnny Depp defamation case over alleged juror mishap
Amber Heard is seeking a mistrial after a jury in Fairfax County, Va., ruled largely in favor of her ex-husband Johnny Depp during their highly publicized defamation trial. According to redacted court documents published by Deadline, Heard’s attorneys requested that Judge Penney Azcarate throw out the $10.35 million verdict awarded to Depp over allegations that one of the jurors had not actually been summoned to participate in the trial.
The court documents were filed to supplement an earlier filing from June in which Heard’s attorney Elaine Bredehoft first claimed that Juror 15 was not the same person listed on the jury panel. Bredehoft alleged that the intended juror and the actual juror have the same last name and address but that the person who had been summoned to participate was born in 1945 and that the person who participated was born in 1970. Bredhoft wrote in the document that a “mistrial should be declared and a new trial ordered,” arguing that Heard’s legal right to due process was compromised.
The 58-year-old Depp filed the $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife Heard, 35, after she published a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post claiming that she was a victim of domestic violence, though didn’t name him. Heard countersued Depp for $100 million.
Depp was awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages. The court also awarded $2 million in compensatory damages to Heard for her counterclaim that she had been defamed by Depp’s attorney (who had referred to her allegations of domestic violence as a “hoax.”).
