Kodak Black arrested in Florida for drug possession
Kodak Black was arrested in Florida during a traffic stop near Fort Lauderdale and charged with drug trafficking and possession over the weekend. He was released from jail on a $75,000 bond Saturday morning.
Police said in a press release that Black — born Dieuson Octave, and legally named Bill Capri — was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol for expired tags and windows tinted beyond the legal limit. Police searched the car and found 31 pills of oxycodone, a highly addictive opioid used to treat pain, and $74,960 in cash. He was booked into the Broward County Jail where he remained in custody on Saturday morning.
Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen said that the rapper was released on the $75,000 bond after a hearing Saturday morning. Cohen said in a statement: “Never Judge a case based on an arrest. There are always additional facts and circumstances that give rise to a defense, especially in this case. We will get him a bond today and move forward with resolving the matter quickly.”
This is not Kodak’s first brush with the law; he was sentenced to four years in prison on weapons charges in 2019 before he was pardoned by former President Donald Trump. And in February, Black was shot in the leg and three other people were injured outside an afterparty for a Justin Bieber concert at The Nice Guy restaurant in Los Angeles.

Kevin Spacey pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges
Kevin Spacey entered a not-guilty plea on Thursday morning connected to sex offenses leveled against him that date back almost 20 years. The 62-year-old Spacey appeared in London’s criminal court over the sexual assault charges stemming from his time as an artistic director at a local theater between 2005 and 2013. The actor was charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent.
In a court appearance last month, Spacey’s lawyer said the actor “strenuously denied all allegations.” Spacey was questioned by cops in 2019 about claims by several men who said he assaulted them during his time as the artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater between 2005 and 2013. The alleged victims are all now in their 30s and 40s. Four of the alleged incidents took place in London between March 2005 and August 2008, and one in Gloucestershire, England, in April 2013. The Crown Prosecution Service authorized charges against the actor in May, but he could only be formally charged once arriving on British soil last month.
Spacey, who was granted unconditional bail, could face life in prison if found guilty of the most serious offense. If convicted of sexual assault he could be slapped with a six-month prison sentence or an unlimited fine.
