Paul Wesley has been cast in the iconic role of James T. Kirk in the upcoming second season of the Paramount+ series “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” due to premiere on Paramount Plus on May 5.  “Strange New Worlds” also stars Anson Mount as Capt. Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, and Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley, and takes place prior to the events of the original “Star Trek” series.

The show follows the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike, before Kirk became captain of the Starship Enterprise. Wesley will appear as a young version of Kirk, and is now the third actor to play the character. William Shatner played Kirk in the original “Star Trek” series as well as in multiple films, and Chris Pine has played Kirk in three “Star Trek” films to date, with a fourth on the way.

Wesley is best known for playing Stefan Salvatore for eight seasons in The CW drama series “The Vampire Diaries.”

Jack Harlow has announced his sophomore album “Come Home The Kids Miss You” will drop on May 6. Harlow shared the news in a cover story with Rolling Stone.

Jack also took to social media to share his new Rolling Stone cover, posting on Instagram:  “I’m on the cover of Rolling Stone. And together we’re announcing my new album, ‘Come Home The Kids Miss You,’ out May 6th. Now for what I really wanna say: B**CH WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH”

Harlow’s debut album, “That’s What They All Say,” was released back in December 2020, and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, led by Harlow’s breakout single, “What’s Poppin.”

Latto has officially announced her upcoming new studio album, ‘777′, will drop on March 25.

The 23-year-old Latto sharing her cover artwork, saying on social media: ““I put a lot of thought into my artwork I hope u guys love it and understand where I’m at mentally. the music will give just as much as the visuals! I PROMISE U THAT! My heart beating so fast I was nervous to post but I’m ready for this next chapter!!!!! Let’s go!””

777 will include Latto’s latest singles, “Wheelie” with 21 Savage, and her smash hit “Big Energy.”

Disney+ debuted the trailer and poster for the upcoming MCU series ‘Ms. Marvel’, ahead of its June premiere on the streaming platform.  Ms. Marvel stars Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel — “a Muslim American teenager and avid gamer obsessed with superheroes living in New Jersey, Khan is simply trying to navigate growing up, pressures of high school and family life.”

In addition to Vellani, Ms. Marvel also stars Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.

Peacock’s limited series Angelyne, starring Emmy Rossum as the infamous Los Angeles icon, will premiere on Thursday, May 19, with all eight episodes dropping at once.  Peacock released a new teaser trailer for the series, in which we see Rossum as Angelyne, saying: “You really want to know my story? The story of my life? The truth is, I’m something that you have to experience.”

Angelyne – a singer, actress and model — was a celebrity who became famous before the rise of social media. The limited series will tell her story on how she came to fame in the 1980s after appearing on billboards throughout Los Angeles.  The official synopsis describes Angelyne as “the glow-in-the-dark queen of the universe and L.A.’s original billboard icon… who infiltrated pop culture and rose to fame in the 1980s when a series of billboards began to appear around L.A. featuring her signature curvier figure.” 

Along with Rossum, the cast includes Martin Freeman, Alex Karpovsky, Hamish Linklater, Charlie Rowe, Lukas Gage, Michael Angarano, Molly Ephraim and David Krumholtz.

NBA YoungBoy — fresh off of the release of his joint project with DaBaby — is dropping new solo music. YoungBoy released his new song ‘I Got The Bag,’ along with the official music video for the track.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s joint project with DaBaby cracked the Billboard 200’s Top 10 on the latest albums chart, with Better Than You landing at No. 10 in its first week, according to Billboard.

The Life Is Beautiful festival has revealed its 2022 lineup, with headliners including Jack Harlow, Migos, Lorde, Gorillaz, Kygo, Arctic Monkeys, Calvin Harris, Cage the Elephant and Beach House.

The festival, which is scheduled to take place from September 16 to September 18 in Las Vegas, will also feature  Isaiah Rashad, Young Nudy, Coi Leray, Rico Nasty, Big Boi, JPEGMafia, Charli XCX, Gryffin, Alison Wonderland, Oliver Tree, Big Boi, and Alessia Cara, with more acts expected to be added.

Tickets for this year’s festival will be available to purchase on Friday, March 18 at 10 a.m. PDT on the Life Is Beautiful website.

Blue Origin announced that Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson is headed to space as a crew member of the next Blue Origin flight on March 23rd.

Davidson will be on Blue Origin’s New Shepard-20 flight, launching from west Texas, with investor Marty Allen, former Party America CEO Marc Hagle and his wife Sharon Hagle, University of North Carolina business professor Jim Kitchen, and George Nield, president of Commercial Space Technologies.

The Jeff Bezos-owned commercial space travel company said in a statement: “Each astronaut onboard NS-20 will carry a postcard to space on behalf of Blue Origin’s foundation, Club for the Future, whose Postcards to Space program gives students access to space on Blue Origin’s rockets. The club’s mission is to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM for the benefit of Earth.”

Previous Blue Origin flights to space carried former Star Trek star William Shatner last October and and Good Morning America host and former NFL star Michael Strahan in December.

Machine Gun Kelly has revealed the tracklist for his upcoming LP “Mainstream Sellout” due out March 25th. The LP is the follow-up to his pop-punk album ‘Tickets to My Downfall,’ which was released back in 2020.

The 31-year-old’s new release will have appearances from his good pal Pete Davidson, as well as Bring Me the Horizon, Lil Wayne, Blackbear, Willow Smith, Iann Dior, Gunna, and Young Thug, and Lil Wayne (who appears on two different songs).

Coi Leray has announced her new single will be released on Friday, March 18th, featuring none other than Nicki Minaj.  Leray posted on social media:  “TRENDSETTERS LOADING…..My new single ‘Blick Blick’ w The Queen @Nickiminaj drops this FRIDAY 3/18.”  Alongside the caption, Leray posted a photo of her and Minaj.

Blick Blick will be Leray’s first new music since she dropped the two singles “Medicine” and “Anxiety” a few months ago.
