Megan Thee Stallion speaks out on Tory Lanez shooting in first interview regarding the incident

Megan Thee Stallion has given her first interview about her alleged shooting incident with Tory Lanez with CBS Morning’s Gayle King. The network shared a clip of their conversation on social media which shows the rapper tearing up as she recounts the event, describing the night by saying she was at a party and was ready to leave but everyone else wanted to stay.

Said Megan about the situation that escalated into violence: “I never put my hands on anybody. I never raised my voice too loud.”  She was outside of the vehicle when she says Lanez said, “Dance, b*tch,” before he started shooting at her, “I didn’t want to move too quick, like ‘cause I’m like, ‘Oh my god. If I take the wrong step … I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me. I was really scared ‘cause I had never been shot at before.”

The incident happened in the summer of 2020, and left Megan with shrapnel in her feet. Lanez has pleaded not guilty and has been prohibited from discussing the case, however, he recently violated a protective order in the felony assault case when a judge found recent tweets from Lanez appeared “to be clear messages” aimed at Megan. His new bail was set at $350K.

‘The Goldbergs’ renewed for Season 10 at ABC

The 1980s-set comedy The Goldbergs has been renewed for its 10th season on ABC. The renewal arrives a month after star and exec producer Wendi McLendon-Covey signed a new deal to return with producers Sony Pictures Television.

Before McLendon-Covey’s new deal, the future of The Goldbergs was in jeopardy, despite being the longest-running live-action comedy currently airing on broadcast TV. The show had to write in the passing of George Segal (who played the beloved Pops) in Season 9, and is currently working around the departure of star Jeff Garlin, who played patriarch Murray Goldberg. Garlin exited in December following an HR investigation that stemmed from multiple complaints over his behavior on the set of the comedy.

The Goldbergs is a semi-autobiographical comedy based on the childhood of series creator Adam F. Goldberg, who served as showrunner until season seven. Alex Barnow and Chris Bishop have helmed the series since then and exec produce alongside Doug Robinson and series star Wendi McLendon-Covey. The cast also includes Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia and Sam Lerner.

A$AP Rocky arrested at LAX in connection with 2021 shooting

A$AP Rocky was arrested Wednesday at Los Angeles International Airport in connection with a shooting in Hollywood last November. Los Angeles Police detectives arrested the 33-year-old, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, for assault with a deadly weapon. A$AP Rocky had just landed at LAX aboard a private jet Wednesday morning when he was handcuffed and taken into custody inside the terminal. The rapper had just flown back to the U.S. from Barbados with singer Rihanna, who is pregnant with the couple’s child.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that the shooting escalated from an argument on Nov. 6. and identified Mayers as the gunman who “fired a handgun at the victim. The victim sustained a minor injury from the incident and later sought medical treatment”. Detectives said the suspect and two other men ran from the scene after the shooting.

This is not the first time the rapper has been arrested; Mayers was convicted of assault in Sweden in 2019 for his involvement in a street fight in Stockholm after a concert, and was imprisoned for nearly a month.  He and his entourage argued that they acted in self-defense; and Mayers was eventually sentenced to two years probation.
