Singer Ashanti has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the postponement of a scheduled VERZUZ battle against Keyshia Cole.

The 40-year-old Ashanti was set to square off with Cole on Saturday, where the two would play their best songs in a showdown format. Ashanti said in an Instagram post. “The momentum of Verzuz has been incredible. I’m so mad because I was so ready.” Ashanti said she got the virus from a family member, not from her recent travels, and is dealing with only minor symptoms. The Verzuz battle between her and Cole has been rescheduled for Jan. 9.
